Herman C. Snyder

Rev. Herman C. Snyder was born in Tremont on September 12, 1906.  He graduated from Tremont High School followed by Franklin and Marshall College in 1931, and the Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1934.  He was ordained in December, 1934.  His pastorates were in Macungie, 1934 to 1939; Denver, PA from 1939 to 1944; Berlin, PA 1944 to 1946; and Quarryville, 1946 to 1956.  He then served as the first permanent superintendent of the Devitt Home for the Aged and Convalescent in Allenwood until 1967.  He was also the pastor of Devitt.  From 1967 until 1974 he was our pastor of St. Paul's here in Beavertown.  His final duty was as visitation pastor in Danville until retiring in 1986.  He died on Septemer 6, 1987 and is buried in the Willow Street Cemetery in Willow Street, PA.
